Rabeprazole Tablets have been prescribed for treatment of indigestion, heartburn, & excessive gastric acid production due to GERD and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Belongs to class of proton pump inhibitors, they are known to work by binding to H+/K+ ATPase pathway and block final step of gastric acid secretion. Upon ingestion, active chemical present in these tablets gets absorbed in parietal cells of stomach to exert its curative effects. They get metabolized in liver by CYP2C19 & CYP3A4 enzymes. Rabeprazole Tablets are known to have excellent protein binding ability of 96.3% with bioavailability of about 52%.
